Iced Coconut Matcha Latte

I drink Matcha every morning after I wake up. I love it because it doesn’t give me a crash like coffee does.

But since we get a lot of fresh coconuts where I live, I wanted to add this coconut twist!

This iced coconut matcha latte is smooth, cooling, and so easy to make, it might just replace your morning coffee.

The earthy green tea flavor balances beautifully with the coconut milk, and the ice makes it a refreshing pick-me-up on hot days.

Whether you sip it on your balcony first thing in the morning or enjoy it as an afternoon treat, this drink will give you that café-style vibe at home without the long queue.

Tips to make it tastier!

Getting the balance of flavors and colors just right is key. Here are a few essential tips to keep in mind:

  1. Use High-Quality Matcha – A vibrant green matcha powder ensures the best flavor and health benefits. Try this Ceremonial Grade Matcha for a rich taste.
  2. Use Frothed or Blended Milk – This gives the latte a creamy, dreamy texture. A Milk Frother can help achieve the perfect foam.
  3. If you want a creamier drink, try using coconut cream mixed with coconut milk.
  4. Add a pinch of vanilla extract for a subtle dessert-like twist.
  5. Chill your glass in the freezer for 5 minutes before making the drink for extra frostiness.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon high-quality matcha powder

  • 2–3 tablespoons hot water (not boiling)

  • 1 cup coconut milk (unsweetened or sweetened, depending on preference)

  • 1–2 teaspoons maple syrup, honey, or sugar (adjust to taste)

  • Ice cubes

Directions

  • Start by sifting the matcha powder into a small bowl to avoid clumps. Pour in the hot water and whisk briskly in a zig-zag motion using a bamboo whisk or a small frother until the matcha is fully dissolved and frothy on top.
  • In a serving glass, add ice cubes to fill about two-thirds of the cup. Pour the coconut milk over the ice, followed by your whisked matcha.
  • Drizzle in your sweetener and stir gently until the colors swirl together into a gorgeous pastel green. Sip and enjoy immediately while it’s cold and refreshing.

  • I personally use coconut milk in a lot of my recipes

Notes:

Swap coconut milk for oat milk, almond milk, or soy milk for a different flavor profile. If you want a tropical flair, blend the coconut milk with a little pineapple juice before pouring it over the ice.

For a protein boost, add a scoop of vanilla protein powder to the coconut milk before mixing. You can also turn this into a warm drink by skipping the ice and steaming the milk before combining with matcha.

This pink matcha latte is a perfect blend of earthy matcha and subtle sweetness with a stunning visual appeal.

Whether you’re making it for yourself or sharing it with friends, it’s guaranteed to be a hit. Enjoy your beautiful, healthy drink!
